History

It all started with the passion of nurturing the young mind. The passion was realized when the school directress finally made up her mind of putting a preschool in the village. The first year of the school’s operation was not easy. Teacher Beth as she is fondly called by everybody, manned fifty-four children by herself. She was the school teacher, the head, the registrar, the secretary and the janitress of the small school which later became the second home of the children. At the middle of the school year, almost half of the student’s population migrated to different countries of the world, thus leaving the school thirty-five students. At the onset, Teacher Beth was a bit apprehensive that the school will not progress. However, this did not stop her from working towards the realization of her goal.

The school grew up with the Torres family. It was the couple’s third child, a very special child. Symonne was about seven years old when the school started. Samir was barely a year old. The school was the third baby. Kuya Ted Torres was the major sponsor of the school. His job as OFW helped the finance the school’s financial needs while Teacher Beth conducted tutorial sessions in the afternoon each day to cope with the growing expenses of the family, especially the third baby’s needs – WILL School.

The school’s mission and vision were anchored on discipline, humility, love, truth, peace, and service to God and the humanity. Teacher Beth focused on human relationships to enhance the potential of her students. She made it a point that the parents and the school collaborated to achieve the school’s goals for the students.

The school’s growth in terms of population was not that fast. Parents would normally enrol their kids in the school to provide their children a good foundation in reading. The moment their children get admitted to big schools, the parents transfer their children to such schools, leaving WILL with a steady growth rate of about fifteen percent until its fourth year of existence.

To date, the school has 211 students and thirty faculty and staff. As visualized on its 10th year of operation, the school should have achieved stability in terms of staff and facilities. It has further extended its services to the community by providing scholarship programs to deserving students specifically to emotionally challenged children. The school also started working on its goal of educating the parents as well to further strengthen the relationship with their children.
